Glimmer Of Hope

I took my own advice and have been monitoring SERPs since the update kicked off.
Mostly to see shake-ups as they happen to get an idea where we're at in the rollout/rollback/panic knob twist phase of the game.
But also to get a feel for what Google is looking at.
Last two weeks, I've been monitoring a corpus of keywords that pre-update would populate almost 90% of the results with review/info pages/sites.
Best ________
________ reviews
etc.
Post update, Google has been displaying ~ 80% transactional pages for these. Shopify collections, SaaS sites, Amazon listings, etc.
Today and yesterday they've reverted but not as extreme.
Just about 70% were review/info results with the other 30% mostly transactional and the occasional news intent result.
So if you're still keen on building niche info sites (and I have no idea why you would be at this point unless you're a masochist), then this might be some good news for you.
Caveat, it feels like we might be at the panic knob twist part of the update.
Caveat two, of the 70% information results, almost 80% were high-authority 'parasites' and 20% were higher authority 'niche' sites.
So maybe Parasite SEO is getting a reprieve and niche sites are still on the shunned list.
Time will tell.
Money or my life, I'm still focusing on transactional content going forward.
Google has shown us enough of the puck that until I see otherwise, that's my game plan.
But for right now, there's some opportunities that didn't exist last week and the week before so strike while the iron is hot if you have the ammo.
Fortune favors the bold.
Short one tonight, just wanted to share my observations with you.
